Description: Marcy Houle, MS, is a co-author of the new, award-wining book, The Gift of Caring, that the Senior Review is calling “Indispensable.” Houle will detail front-line strategies seniors and their families must know to safely navigate what can be a dangerous health care system for older persons. The Oregonian has called the book, “The best preventive medicine you can find.”

Weekly Coffee Meet-up
When: Men’s Coffee – Every Wednesday, 10 AM to Noon | Women’s Coffee – Every Thursday, 10 AM to Noon | Co-ed Coffee – 4th Friday of the Month, 2 – 4 PM

Description: Informal social event to get to know your River West Village neighbors over coffee and pie

Description: We have a wonderful group of walkers. Walks are generally designated paths and trails in SW Portland.

“101” Age-in-Place Introductory Talk
When: Saturday, May 13th, 10 AM – Noon
Where: St Luke Lutheran Church – 4595 SW California, Portland 97219 (in the Shalom House) Description: River West Village hosts an Informational Presentation and Q and A covering the Villages Movement and the development of the River West Village in SW Portland. Find out how our village can help seniors live a fully engaged life while staying in their homes.
Planning Group Meeting
When: Tuesday, May 23rd, 7 – 9 PM
Where: SW Community Center – 6820 SW 45th Avenue, 97219
Description: The Planning Group is the decision-making body of River West during our village’s pre-launch developmental phase. Anyone who has attended a “101” introductory talk may join in at this meeting and learn about our village building progress.
